Strategy & Analytics Lead Consultant for Google

Position overview:
As a valued member of our marketing service agency SolutionSet, you’ll work collaboratively with our account & creative teams and our client Google to design effective marketing communications and provide business insights. You will define objectives, quantitatively evaluate opportunities and provide strategic thought leadership. You will be a hands-on contributor, planning and conducting analyses on Google’s data, and presenting findings to Google. Google and our internal teams will look to you as the expert in best practices in the use of tools for the collection, understanding, manipulation, and analysis of data; and the expert to apply best practices of email and direct mail marketing campaign strategies. Your input will help to inform the planning process, guide the setup of statistically sound tests, and enable accurate measurement of results.
You should have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the technical acumen required to detail out the process and deliverables concisely and with accuracy. You also have a strong work ethic and are a dedicated performer with the willingness to do what it takes to deliver the best of breed solutions for our client Google. You’ll provide insightful interpretation of data to enhance our ability to deliver intelligent and efficient multi-channel marketing initiatives for Google.
Primary Responsibilities include:
• Provide strategic and analytic consulting services to support project engagements, driving strategic marketing decisions.
• Perform analysis of campaign results to assist in overall evaluation of campaign success.
• Perform ad hoc and recurring analysis and reporting of customer data to monitor key performance indicators and trends.
• Develop ad hoc advanced analysis of customer data to support hypotheses for opportunities in customer value management, e.g., acquisition, retention, attrition, and demographic/firmographic and behavioral profiles: includes customer segmentation and advanced modeling.
• Conduct experimental design in order to test & learn the best marketing tactics.
• Participate in building, maintaining, and improving reporting/data processes, including new campaign management, customer database, and tool project rollouts.
• Participate in a wide variety of planning and research projects, which include secondary research, writing and preparation of presentations, Point of View documents and proposals.
• Understand email campaign logics and create SQL scripts to dynamically pull Google customer lists from database based on variables to receive email, DM, and other communications from Google.
• Works with the production team to make sure all files are built correctly and the QA process is followed consistently with each deliverable to ensure correct account data was populated for all communications.

Essential Skills/Experience:
• 5+ Years of hands on experience of data analytics and statistical modeling
• Demonstrable skills in creating analytical solutions (statistical modeling, cluster analysis and segmentations), developing custom client reports, and providing marketing/business insights.
• Working knowledge of linear and logistic regression techniques
• Expertise with at least one statistical package such as SAS and R.
• Experience managing or using complex marketing databases through standard access tools, such as SQL (MS-Access, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL), reporting tools (Business Objects, Crystal Reports) or business intelligence applications.
• Experience working with large datasets and the ability to create/handle/analyze datasets at multiple levels (example customer, transactions, demographic/firmographic, etc.)
• Must have excellent client facing skills including self-presentation and clarity of verbal communication
• Must have experience with email marketing programs. Knowledge of other integrated marketing channels is a plus.
• Self-starter & team player with excellent project management and communication skills.
• Skill and creativity in the use of Microsoft or other desktop tools (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Project).
• Graduate degree in Statistics/Business preferred
• Knowledge of Python, Linux or other Shell Script is a plus
• Knowledge of Google Docs, Google Analytics and Google AdWords would benefit you greatly in this role
