seeking a

Statistician for Plant Science (m/f)

What you can expect:

In many challenging plant screening and
development projects for which statistics is key to
success you entertain detailed discussions with
scientists to understand project goals and risks,
and translate these goals into experimental designs
and statistical analyses. You conduct statistical
analyses and report results as well as explore and
develop innovative statistical solutions tailored to
project goals with special focus on but not limited to
metabolomics. Moreover, you define standard
analysis workflows, guide their implementation as
software tools and support the development of
global statistics standards for BASF Plant Science.
You are integrated in a global expert team of
statisticians and stay abreast of developments
surrounding new statistical methodologies.

What we expect:

You are expected to hold a degree in a relevant
study field (e.g. statistics, mathematics, biology,
agronomy), preferably a PhD. You possess strong
statistics expertise, especially concerning ANOVA
(mixed models), experimental design (experience
in field trials desired) and multivariate classification,
preferably acquired in a biotechnology, agronomy
or breeding environment. In addition, you have
proven excellence in statistical analysis of complex
data sets and thorough knowledge of statistical
scripting (R or SAS). Special interest in and
experience with biotechnological omics-data is a
plus. Finally, you are a good team player, have
good working knowledge of standard IT
applications, are fluent in English and possess
excellent communication skills.
