Statistical Project Associate

Position description:

The RAND Corporation is seeking master’s level Statistical Project Associates to work on multi-disciplinary research teams in all of RAND’s research areas. Project Associates are expected to work closely with PhD statisticians and other specialists in all disciplines to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to research, analysis and problem solving. Under the supervision of RAND researchers, these statisticians will perform research support tasks including database development, contribution to analysis activities involving statistical modeling, and written documentation of methods and results.

Many analyses and most database development use SAS; however, many teams use Stata or R or other specialty software such as Mplus or MLWin.

Qualifications:

MA/MS in statistics or biostatistics is required.

Specific technical skills required/preferred:

* Demonstrated skills in the use of SAS.
* Expertise in other statistical software, such as STATA and R, is highly desirable.
* Experience carrying out applied statistical analysis, especially in collaboration with PhD researchers.
