Senior Analyst

We are seeking one or more technically sophisticated persons for our Analytics Group, based in Palo Alto. We are looking for people who combine knowledge of applied statistics or econometrics with strong computational skills (especially R, Python and SQL). Work in a fast-paced and intellectually stimulating environment where technically sophisticated solutions to marketing, financial, and political problems are developed.

Primary responsibilities include statistical modeling, computation, and design and execution of internal and external research projects. The analyst will assist and provide advice to the operations and research groups, as well as having primary responsibility (from design to scripting to analysis to report writing) for specific projects.

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

— Ph.D. in statistics or social science

— Knowledge of applied statistics and econometrics is essential.

— Familiarity with some or all of discrete choice models, panel data, measurement error, missing data, hierarchical Bayes, survey sampling, factor analysis, structural equation models, experimental design, and data mining very useful

— Background in statistical computing, using software such as R, Stata, and WinBugs/JAGS.

— Programming with C/C++, Python, SQL, etc. is a plus.

— Ability to learn new software and techniques.

— Commitment and attention to detail and accuracy
