About the Position:
A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position (ML 24761) is available immediately in the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division (VIDD) of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC), Seattle, WA. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, home of three Nobel laureates, is an independent, nonprofit research institution dedicated to the development and advancement of biomedical research to eliminate cancer and other potentially fatal diseases. The successful applicant will work directly with Dr. Ying Huang to develop statistical methods with applications in the prevention and treatment of HIV AIDS and cancer. Data collected by the HIV Vaccine Trial Network (HVTN) studies, the Collaboration for AIDS VACCINE Discovery (CAVD), and the cancer Early Detection and Research Network (EDRN) will be used as a basis for the methodological works.
Suitable applicants should have a PhD degree in biostatistics/statistics, applied mathematics, computational biology or other fields with strong quantitative training. Strong programming skills in R or similar languages are required. Proficiency in C/C++ is a plus.
Experience with missing data methods, variable selection, diagnostic testing, biomarker evaluation, causal inference, survival analysis, or clinical study design a plus.
Full time position, salary based on NIH scale + excellent benefits.
