CME Group is currently looking for a Market Regulation Data Science summer intern. This candidate will assist the Market Regulation Data Science team on day-to-day activities in support of data analysis and modeling. The Data Science team is responsible for developing methods to effectively monitor CME Group derivatives markets and detect rule violations in these markets. Principal Accountabilities: Analyze large sets of transactional data using statistics and programing languages (R, SQL, Python) to provide insights from a regulatory perspective Develop data preparation routines in a procedural language Understand and articulate the basics of concepts such as Regression, Logistic Regression and Clustering Analysis to a non-technical audience Collaborate with various members of the Department on requirements to refine the projects goals, scope and timelines Develop, assess, and validate models to be used by the Department Design and implement creative approaches to predictive modeling problems Acquire any specialized domain knowledge required to be more effective in all required activities Skills / Software Requirements: Must be experienced with SQL, Python, R, and Excel Experience with Tableau is preferred Education: Must be currently enrolled in a master’s programs at an accredited university, studying Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related fields. Typical work hours are 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM Monday to Friday in the Chicago office. Must commit to three months of work.
