The Diabetes Epidemiology group at the Medical Research Institute, University of Dundee, Scotland, is seeking a person with good programming skills and knowledge of R to work with a team of statisticians analysing data extracted from several large clinical and routine health care datasets.
Job will involve importing these large datasets into a database, processing the data to a state ready for statistical analysis using packages such as R, SAS and STATA, making the data available to the statisticians for analysis, and working with the statisticians to ensure adequate documentation of dataflows and data version control, and organisation of common data analysis code into shared libraries.
The appointee will have experience in setting up and maintaining relational databases, experience of using R statistical programming language and experience of working within the Linux environment.
A degree in a related discipline such as computer science, mathematics or statistics would be advantageous.
