Location: metanomics GmbH, Berlin

Working hours: Full-time

What you can expect: 

You will be involved in challenging and exciting research projects for which statistics is key to success. The projects will be in health as well as in plant research. Your participation will include detailed interdisciplinary discussions with scientists to understand project goals, and to translate these goals into experimental designs and statistical analyses. In addition to applying and conducting statistics, you will report results to collaborators and customers as well as explore and develop innovative statistical solutions focused on (but not limited to) metabolomics. Moreover, you will define standard analysis workflows, guide their implementation as software tools and support the development of company-wide global statistics standards. You will be well integrated in an expert team of statisticians and thereby stay abreast of developments surrounding new statistical methodologies.

What we expect: 

You are expected to hold a degree in a relevant field of study (e.g. statistics, mathematics, biology, agronomy), preferably a PhD. You possess strong mathematics expertise and several years of statistics experience, especially concerning ANOVA (e.g. mixed-effects models), experimental designs (e.g. pre-clinical or clinical studies, greenhouse or field trials) and multivariate data analysis (e.g. visualization, clustering, classification, regression), preferably acquired in a biotechnology environment. In addition, you have proven excellence in statistical analysis of complex data sets and thorough knowledge of statistical scripting (R or SAS). Special interest in and experience with omics-data is a plus. Finally, you are a good team player, are fluent in English and possess excellent communication skills.
