Lead Statistical Programmer

Pharmaceutical company in NJ looking for a Lead Statistical Programmer (Biomathematics) provides high quality programming solutions as well as software documentation to support early clinical development projects within one or more Disease Biology Areas (DBA).

She/he will work closely work within an innovative global team which can consist of Statisticians (Clinical Pharmacology Statisticians as well as Experimental Statisticians) as well as with Clinical Pharmacometricians and Clinical Modeling & Simulation Specialists.

She/he is expected to support and perform descriptive analyses of a wide variety of data, including Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic (PK/PD), Phase I, and pre-clinical data.

Must have s-plus experience..

Desired:
Good knowledge of the drug development process and clinical trial experience.
Basic understanding of database structures
Experience with handling of biologic data of various kinds (e.g., PK/PD, genomic, biomarker, and microarray data)
Good working knowledge of more than one programming language (e.g., C, C++, C#)
Effective presentation skills
Experience with SAS
Experience with UNIX

3 to 5 years experience leading programming activities within assigned projects while meeting deadlines

Ability to balance the need of the business and the customer, taking into account speed, quality and risk
Flexibility and confidence to handle ambiguities and changing demands
Thinks innovatively and timely when preventing and solving problems

Bachelors Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or other field (e.g., physics, biology, pharmacology)
Hands on programming experience in S-Plus or R, including the ability to create graphics
Good knowledge in the programming of complex data manipulations
Ability to mentor others
